Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke may miss the first Test against West Indies next week following the death of his fiance’s father on the weekend.
The right-hander was given compassionate leave from an Australian pre-tour training camp last week to return to Sydney and be with his recently-engaged partner Lara Bingle and her family.
Clarke opted not to travel with his team-mates when they left for the Caribbean on Saturday and later that night Graham Bingle lost his battle with cancer in a Sydney hospital. His funeral is expected to be held later this week.
